HALFWAY TO JAIPUR

A WELCOMING NOTE

On behalf of the International Play Association [England branch], we welcome you to London and this Conference.

You will see on the pages as you browse the website what an exciting and stimulating programme we have put together for you.

The idea for this event has come from attendance at the IPA Calgary Triennial Conference. In an afternoon evaluation after the last day’s sessions a small group of us came up with the idea to run a conference/seminar 18 months after Calgary and 18 months before Jaipur.

As we are excited by the thought of travelling to Jaipur in 2020, we decided to call the conference ‘Halfway to Jaipur’, as London in May 2019 is almost exactly half way to Jaipur in space and time.

All IPA branches share a common vision. We want to highlight the best and most innovative European ideas on play theory, thinking and practice and so have created a conference with a combination of academic papers and presentations on both projects and the right to play in practice.

Our progamme board worked hard to select the appropriate level of papers and presentation and we are thrilled that the speakers and presented represent over twelve different countries.

We hope you have a wonderful time here in London and if there is anything that we can do to help make your stay perfect please let me know

Thanks
